Okay, so, since my previous post, I've seen exactly one person post the link graphic for my reading.  I had to resort to begging last year, too.  It's a week away and I only know of literally half-a-dozen people who've said that they're coming.  I swear this is getting harder every year and I'm not entirely sure why that is.

Anyway.  Begging doesn't work?  That's fine.  I'm not above resorting to bribery.

*ahem*

If you post about my reading and encourage your friends to come, I'll have a present waiting for you when you show up.

If you tell me ahead of time, "Hey, I'm coming and I'm bringing someone who hasn't been to one of your readings," I'll have a present waiting for both of you.

You don't have to use the graphic if you don't want -- a textual invite is fine.  Be sure you mention the date, time, and address, obviously.  A link to my website would be nice, too.

It doesn't have to be on LiveJournal -- if you post about it on your weblog, or Twitter, or anywhere that people will see it, the offer stands.  Just mail me and let me know.

I've told two folks here.

But all I had to do was forward them the link to your post here.

I shan't be there, though. Kids. :/

Hey, we LOVE you and would love to come, but maybe you could pick a different night? Seriously. I understand why you want to do it that night, but it just doesn't work for everyone.

Having said that, I'll go post your graphic.

You know, with as many times as you've already had to put up with the "But whyyyy does Steamcon have to be in Octooobberrr?" question, I'll admit you're the last person I expected to hear that from. :)

It *is* a good point, but it's one I just can't win; whenever I've scheduled it for different days, I always get people asking, "But why aren't you actually doing it on Halloween?" The best compromise I've ever come up with is to have it on Halloween, but have it early enough that people will still have time to go to parties/clubs/etc. afterward.

I *have* done readings at other times of the year before, and my current venue is really eager for me to do that, so I should start that up again. My only worry is that people really wouldn't be interested without the general atmosphere of Halloween raising their interest in things that go bump in the night.

Yep. No perfect day or time. I didn't know that you had tried a different day. It's just that Halloween is one of the few days people really plan for. The California con is taking a lot of heat for being on that weekend. The Wayward is a good place though.

Since you've been a panelist at NWC, you should post it on that community.

I don't have much sway over the entertainment choices of my f-list, but I'll post it.

I let the folks at work know, but Liam demands trick-or-treat time, so we won't be making it ourselves. (We don't need a present, either, though there *is* a nice new Sony D-SLR coming out this week... :) )

Hope your turnout is large and terrified.

I have invited some of my non-livejournal friends to the Facebook event. We'll see if anyone comes.

(um, could you take my name off your public "gift list"? I feel awkward about being held up as a "good example". Thx.)
((and thus obvs you don't need to give me anything.)) (((unless you want to.)))

o hey, I bet wayward could be cool with you reading fanfic. Depending on the legal stuff, that might generate a less time-dependent audience.

Very cool. I hope they do come along.

Uhhhh ... okay, done.

Yeah, I've considered that, and I bet you're right. I could use the occasion to plug HTDCML (http://www.bigfinish.com/26-Doctor-Who-Short-Trips-How-the-Doctor-Changed-my-Life), too.

Thank you. It's just a thing that I don't like, is all.

I should get a copy of that sometime.

I'll be there, I'm always there. :-) Also, I'll post the graphic, but thought I'd wait till after this weekend to do so, in the interests of clarity.

What, seriously? Looks like there's about half-a-dozen people on your friends list who live in Seattle and don't read my journal, and you honestly don't think any of them would be interested?

Looking at it I count 6 - one is dead, one is my fiancé, one has Diana on his friends list (and so has already seen the post), two have seen the post from the past few years and never went, and the 6th doesn't have a car. *shrug*
ETA: I wish I could go, but I have a kiddo, and thus have other activities for the night

I'll go ahead and put a link on my email account. I'm fairly new to LJ, so feel free to read my journal, (I think only one person has done so thus far :(, it will be more interesting the more I get used to writing.... I promise.

Good luck at the reading, I hope alot of people show up!
