.... there is a book. No, really.

Top marks to [livejournal.com profile] cirocco, who wrote:

I think the smart money is on this being a double-inverse-reverse prank. That is, the book has been in the works for a while, but you delayed posting about it until the 1st, knowing that you are a legendary trickster and would not be believed, only to actually produce the books at Norwescon. Ergo the real joke is that this is no joke. Am I right or am I right?

Dead-on. Either having known me for an appallingly long time has given her profound insights into my twisty little thought processes, or perhaps she's simply just as devious as I am to begin with. Your call.

[livejournal.com profile] kickaha also gets high marks for thinking to track down the publishing company listed on the cover graphic -- a new local small press that [livejournal.com profile] helix90 is involved with -- but he loses at least five points for somehow missing this page. Heh.

So, anyway, yeah. Object lesson here being, you can't trust anything I do on April Fool's Day; you can't even trust me to lie. Gotcha.

$14.95, trade paperback, 160 pages. Seriously, tell all your friends, won't you?

Well crap.

For some reason, simply trying stonepinepress.com never occurred to me, since it didn't pop up on google, nor did it have a link from the PMA site.

That'll teach me to trust technology. :D

Congratulations!

I suppose this means I have to actually finish the dissertation now, huh? :)

Well hot damn. Now I can tell people I know someone who's published a book. Congratulations!

Does rubbing your belly encourage luck to rub off on us? ;)

Congratulations. Will it be possible to order online?

Rock on!

I thought it a joke at first, then thought 'maybe it's self published?' I still have that booklet you gave me a few years ago, so I knew that you've published before.

If one is unable to attend Norwescon for reasons of still not having mastered that whole two-places-at-once thing, how might one procure a copy of said work? (Though according to Cataloging, I should properly say exemplar.)

Heh.

Actually, the possibility of a reverse April Fool's joke was a small bit of the dinner conversation between myself and Miss Jilli. To her credit, she also had you pegged, she's just not up yet to point that out.

Congrats! I'll be hunting you down on Sunday to collect my copy (do I need tax and exact change?). If it doesn't scare the pants* off me I get my money back, right? :-P

*this is a trick question, I don't own pants.

Heh. I even tried googling the publisher name, but didn't find the main site.

I am *so* pleased for you! I'll be buying a copy on Sunday at Norwescon.

Okay, so you're not a tease, you're a wonderful talented man who'll stop by my table at the dealer's room with a copy sometime during the con, right?

Oh, and do you have a banner link so we can spread the joy?

WOO HOO!!

Congratulations!! And, I must say, it is about damn time *someone* in the publishing industry recognized your genius!!

Other than the con, where will they be available for purchase?

My guess was rooted in wishful thinking. I was ridiculously disappointed after I got all thrilled at the prospect of you being published, only to remember yesterday's date, so the gag-within-a-gag theory was the only way I could hold out hope.

Awesome news; I couldn't be happier for you.

When will it be out in eBook, so I can scam it off of kazaa?

So, as someone put it, you're a double-inverse-trickster?

All of this makes total sense, Six. Good one.

And obviously I need to get a copy.

It's got "Take A Bite" in it and I'm buying it.

See you at Connn!
