SIXBOX has been an absolute pit since shortly before Xmas, when it became little more than the Xmas Staging Area -- discarded packaging, receipts, scraps of gift-wrap everywhere. After Xmas, it was even worse, as the floor itself buckled under the incoming load of presents from the family.
And since I've been a little sick -- I didn't think I was going to get my now-traditional winter cold, but it came -- I haven't had the energy to really do anything about it. I've been kind of half-heartedly picking my way through the rubble for days now, washing a dish or two here, putting away a tchotchke or two there. But now I've made real, visible progress -- I can actually walk a clear path through my living room. Huzzah.
(Don't Ask About The Bedroom.)
All of this cleaning, aside from just simply being necessary for my
fragile mental health, is also largely in preparation for handing over the
keys to SIXBOX to
kespernorth for ten days, so he
can watch over home and cat while
retcon and
treebyleaf and I wend our way
south to Disneyland, where we shall surely
die.
If you're going to be at Rustycon this weekend, be sure to swing by the dance on Friday night -- Riff's DJing, and you can come say goodbye to us.

Date: 2003-01-09 12:45 am (UTC)I know what you mean about cleaning. The tree *will* be out of the living room before we leave for the con!
(Is a SIXBOX related to a Skinner Box?)
