The party was a smashing success.

In attendance were [livejournal.com profile] 01flux, [livejournal.com profile] crazedcamel, [livejournal.com profile] darkmane, [livejournal.com profile] deadrose_black, [livejournal.com profile] icebluenothing, [livejournal.com profile] kespernorth, [livejournal.com profile] lara7, [livejournal.com profile] luchog, [livejournal.com profile] m_cobweb, [livejournal.com profile] retcon, [livejournal.com profile] rimrunner, the Reverend Justin, [livejournal.com profile] sikfuk, [livejournal.com profile] songhawk, [livejournal.com profile] treebyleaf, [livejournal.com profile] wendolen, and [livejournal.com profile] windbourne and her friend Sally. (Did I miss anyone?)

At one point, after lara7 asked me if there was anyone at the party she might know from LiveJournal, I stood up and asked, "Everyone, if I may have your attention, a quick poll: Does anyone here not have a LiveJournal account? Anyone? .... Anyone at all?" Heh. Can you buy LiveJournal stock yet?

A weird sleeping sickness seemed to have descended over Seattle that night: both [livejournal.com profile] greenwood and [livejournal.com profile] squeetard, who had said they were coming, ended up falling victim to deep naps instead, and [livejournal.com profile] kespernorth was running late because of a nap, too. (I'd fallen into one myself that evening, actually, but had set an alarm so as not to miss my own damn party.)

I don't know if anyone but me brought food, but people brought alcohol. Boy, did they bring alcohol. I think we have more left over now than we did when the party started, including some lovely mead and some amazing Polish potato vodka. Good stuff.

The loot: I didn't expect to get presents, but people surprised me. I got a lovely functional model of one of DaVinci's flying machines from wendolen, a Chad Michael Ward print (see the graphic to the right) from 01flux, a copy of the "Binary Bible" from lara7 in honor of my 100000th birthday, and songhawk brought me A Fine and Private Place, since she had a copy to spare and knew it was on my wishlist. Very cool stuff! Thanks, everyone!

Everybody who came seemed to have a really good time. I'm so glad we did this. Many thanks to everyone who came out.

"including some lovely mead and some amazing Polish potato vodka."

Well, technically the vodka was Austrian, but the style was definitely Polska. I've only found one better, and wish i could afford a bottle of it right now.

This was the mystery sleeping disease.

It's December, in Seattle. And body went 'oh yeah! no sun!'

I wish I could have been there, too. Move to Australia! Then the seasons will be reversed, and I'll have tons more energy!

Apparently I was only there in spirit.
But I do remember bringing some one with me...
