Importing.

So here we are, then. Hello, Dreamwidthers.

Trying to import my LiveJournal over here. It's ... not going well? The import of my LJ entries was "queued as of 11 hours ago", and the import of my comments was "init as of Never", which doesn't look terribly promising.

.... Is this normal? If you're reading this and you've managed to successfully import your entries, did it take anywhere near this long? Do you think it's completely stalled and I should try again, or .... ?

Still happy to be here, enthusiastic about the site and all, but .... I'll be more enthusiastic when I'm all "moved in."

If it's still actually queued, I'd let it go for another night or so. There are so many people activating accounts and importing their LJs right now, I imagine the server load is quite heavy.

I figured that was probably all it was -- I just wanted to make sure I wasn't running into anything abnormal. Everything seems to be going fine now -- entries are there, comments are queued, all looks well. Thanks for the reassurance I needed. :)

It's totally normal for the comments not to queue until after the entries are imported.

Sure, that makes perfect sense, and I thought it might be the case .... but they're queued up now, so yay! :)
