The current scene in my novel takes place in a nightclub that's not entirely unlike the Mercury.

Therefore, I am going to the Mercury. It's not slacking. It's research!

(I used to do this. I used to do this all the time, head out to the club myself and have a good time. I remember. I think I'm starting to remember who I am.)

I could write myself into permission for a kick-ass new PC--because my characters have one. And a new Lexus--because damn, my character doesn't drive a Corolla with 75k on it, no way. And, um, let's see. Maybe I could write myself into a better body, or a higher paying job. If I'm skilled enough at dialog, perhaps I could become a minor deity. :)
