Okay, so this novel I'm working on is based on a short story I wrote a couple of years ago. There's a major character in the story who is never named, which worked just fine in the story, but which I can't pull off over the course of a novel.

A month or so ago, I thought of the perfect name for this character. It felt more like discovering what the character's name was, than inventing one. It was that ideal.

. . . . You'd think I would have thought to write it down somewhere, wouldn't you?
