I keep forgetting to mention, but I finished my website redesign for my new employers, CourtTrax. Let me know what you think.

In other news, I broke down and started a Twitter account yesterday. I'm icebluenothing there, as well. I keep having stray thoughts I want to get out of my head that are too tiny to bother to make an LJ post about, and until now I've been using my "status" on Facebook for such things, but I've gradually reached a point where that was pretty much the only thing I was doing on Facebook, so, yeah. I'm probably just going to use Twitter instead and let my Facebook account languish. If you've got a Twitter account, let me know.

Well, it's .... for a corporation, so yeah. :)

It was actually kind of fun to try to produce something really polished and professional-looking. Not the kind of feeling I've ever had a chance to convey in a website before.

Shiny. I really like the design aesthetic. And the opening popover is a cool touch indeed.

Yeah, I can't decide on that one. I have friends who do that, and I find it ... vaguely annoying, somehow? I dunno. Like I'm at a party and they're talking to other friends, but every few minutes they come over to say "Did you hear what I just said?" Dude, if I wanted to be part of that conversation, I'd wander over there.

I may post a poll to ask if people would like me to do that or not.

I've seen some that are automatically behind a cut--which makes it easier to wander over, if one doesn't have a Twitter account to follow you by.

I was kinda excited about the idea of carpooling when I first saw your comment, but I realized later that I sleep at my home a.) seldom and b.) on an unreliable schedule -- I'm usually at Ahna's. Less convenient. Hmmm.

Very nice overall. The design is clean and simple with large navigation links, logins and logos in expected locations that conform to standards, and good resolution on the graphics.

It's quite good, although as a tester, I'm always looking for ways to improve things. Some general suggestions, keeping in mind that it really is high quality already:

- On the home page, the "Find Out More" section has a bunch of categories with items listed like "+ Law Firms". This looks good, but from a UI standpoint, I expect a menu-like listing with + symbols to be an expandable java script list. It's clear what the content's supposed to be, but I still tried to click them when I was skimming. Maybe consider a different bullet-point replacement?

- Also on the home page, the "CourtTrax News" bullet list would benefit from a small amount of vertical padding between each bullet item to enhance readability.

- This one may be impossible, but black text on a dark blue background can be a bit tiring to look at for long periods. I'm a big fan of fairly high contrast color schemes in general, although it's difficult with blue being the standard corporate color.

When the only usability stuff is this minor, you know it's a great design. ^_^ The heavier saturation when mousing over the home page graphics is a nice touch, too. It's very polished.
