This is apparently playing in front of "Cloverfield":

... the quality's lousy, but who cares? That almost had me in tears.

Paramount managed to beat any love I once had for Trek years ago, but if the people who are making this get it as much as this teaser implies, this might bring it all rushing back.

(Speaking of "Cloverfield" -- as much as I may decry Hollywood's sequelitis and general lack of originality, I somehow managed to lose all interest in "Cloverfield" as soon as I found out it wasn't, contrary to rumor, actually going to be a new Godzila movie. What's up with that?)

I have an abusive relationship with Star Trek. Fuck Cloverfield but I'm excited for any new Trekdom ;)

It's The Blair Witch Godzilla. Or Rozencrantz and Guildenstern Meet Godzilla (). Except done well. I thought it was extremely well done, and particularly appreciated the ambiguity of the film. You experience the attack in first person, with no idea what the thing is or where it came from. I was also surprised in that I really only expected to see a bunch of quick, blurry glances at the creature with maybe one money shot, but instead you do actually get some pretty clear looks at it over the course of the film. The movie does rely upon a group of annoying twenty-somethings to carry the story, but they didn't bother me as much as I thought they would. Well worth seeing.

Oh, and the Star Trek trailer was beautiful. I have been expecting it to be a train wreck, but now I am inching back over to being cautiously optimistic.

And I am apparently completely incapable of closing an italics tag. Sorry.

Born and raised on Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Monte Python, so words are incapable of describing how happy this makes me.

Star Trek, John Cho, Leonard Nimoy, and Wynona Ryder in the same credits... Never thought I'd see that.

I wonder how long we'll have to wait for it hit theaters here...
