Six On A Plane

So my publisher is having me flown down to San Francisco for the weekend so I can attend the World Horror Convention. (There is no way I can say that and not feel like a rock star.) I leave this evening and will be back Sunday.
This is the first time I've been on a plane since I was about 12 years old. I'm a little nervous. Not about the plane falling out of the sky or being high-jacked by mad Arabs -- more along the lines of "ohmigod there's a thousand rulesandregulations and what if they send me home for having the wrong size carry-on luggage??"
*deep breaths*
Ah, well, onward and upward (literally). Things to do, people to scare.

Date: 2006-05-11 09:01 pm (UTC)The rules and regs aren't as bad as they were a year or two ago (I could knit on an airplane now if I wanted to, though I think they still don't like long circular needles, because, you know, I might just try to garrote someone with them). Just make sure you get to the airport earlyish, because the lines at the security checkpoint are sometimes quite long (though hopefully a Thursday evening won't be too bad).
(I like parentheses too much, I sometimes think.)

Date: 2006-05-12 03:23 am (UTC)Bring lots of snacks - most flights are food for purchase nowadays, and the idea of spending money on what they try to pass off as edible is almost as terrifying as some of your stories.
And congratulations, also. They're lucky to have you attend.
