This isn't the first time I've been excluded from someone's circle of confidants just for being the wrong gender. Hell, it's probably not even the fiftieth time.

So why does it keep surprising me? Why does it always hurt as if it were the first time?

Cause it's a stupid distinction to make?

I dunno. I never decided whether or not to confide in someone based on their gender.

O.K., then...

.... I'm speechless. Thank you so much, my friend. I don't know what response I was expecting to what I wrote, but this sure wasn't it. Thank you for restoring my faith -- in you, in a lot of things.

You're a boy?

Strangely I'm more likely to confide in someone of the opposite sex. (Wendy would be all over me if I used gender, and not in a good way) I don't know that I wouldn't just because someone was male, but that has generally been the way of my life.

On the other hand I'm often accused of being girly and I tend to have a good understanding - as much as a male can - about feminine bodily functions, so maybe people confuse my gender. :P OC the last time I was called girly was because I'm known to bake, which makes no sense to me.

And somehow I've lost my train of thought and how all this relates to you.

On the other hand I have managed to resist mentioning either I'm a Boy by the Who or Like a Virgin, so I could be doing worse.

Excluding someone from being a confident just because of their gender I would say suggests the person is far too superficial or has some defnite problems. :) Of course that may be a bit of a generalization, and generalizations are always false.

ROFLMAO. Thanks, that perked me up. (someone writing the way people think.)

I admit there are times

that I edit what I am saying based on the gender of the people present, more so now that I am pregnant. But it is mainly with a nod to the generation of the males present that I edit. It can be difficult translating sensations in body parts that you do not posses especialy if you are uncomfortable hearing about those parts in the first place so thus I edit.

*hug*

I had almost mentioned that group, last time I saw you, but managed to think better of it before I screwed up that dramatically.

I'm pleased with Ivy, but not at all surprised. :)
