Probably not a pastime I should be indulging in right now -- seeing as how
I don't really have any to spare -- but I had a good time doing it, and I
like what I got ....
I managed to get the copy of American Gods I mentioned earlier -- it
was still in the window display. Damn, hardbacks are expensive. Even
used, it was a couple more dollars than I thought it would be. I think
it'll be worth it, though. I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman's work, and both
ilion and
kespernorth have been telling me how good
this one is.
And since I was in the U-District, I did something I've been putting off
for months -- I finally went and got myself a membership at Scarecrow Video! I've been crazy
about the place for years, but I've only ever been there with
friends who have memberships. Now that I finally have a vehicle and can
get there on my own, I've been wanting to become a member, and I finally
did! This is a good thing, seeing as how I'm willing to stay in there
and browse much, much longer than any of my friends can possibly tolerate.
I rented Silent Night, Deadly
Night and Basket Case,
two hard-to-find B-movie horror classics I've been meaning to see for
years.
Then after all that, I actually bought some groceries, so there'll be food
in the house for a change.
