Green Lake

I walked all the way around Green Lake today. Twice. That's 5.6 miles. Again, I didn't get winded or need to keep stopping for rest -- I walked all the way around once, stopped and read for about ten minutes, and then set out on my second lap. Considering that I'm used to not being able to walk ten blocks without complaining, I'm still boggling over this. I think I got a little too much sun, but I'll survive.

The main thing that I'm afraid of, with this sudden burst of health and energy, is that it will go away again just as suddenly. So I find myself determined to commit to a more active lifestyle to keep it going.

My main excuse for avoiding exercise is finally gone; I've never felt like I had enough energy and stamina to even start to exercise. I always felt like I couldn't do enough exercise to make a difference, to start building up my strength. But now I can. I've finally reached escape velocity.
